Categories is located under My Calendar > Categories<\/code>. Use categories to label different types of events or to display your events on different pages of your site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Category Editor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Category Name
<\/strong>Add a new category name.

Color<\/strong>
Select a color which will optionally show up in the calendar on the frontend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Category Icon<\/strong>
Search for an icon. The icon search browses a library of approximately 1000 icons available for events to use. Type two letters or more and see which icons that show up. Once you find an icon you like, click the icon to use it. You can also customize the icons<\/a> available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Private (logged-in users only)
<\/strong>Click this checkbox if you want to add a category only for logged in users. Events assigned to this category will only be visible to users who are logged into the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Default<\/strong>
The default category is automatically selected when no category is selected for an event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holiday<\/strong>
Setting a category as the Holiday category allows you to set repeating events to skip dates that conflict with holidays. For example, you could add Christmas Day as an event in the Holiday category. Then you could add a weekly event, and if you choose for that event to skip holidays, it will be omitted if it is the same date as Christmas Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Category List<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ID number<\/strong> – The ID number for each category. The ID can be used in shortcodes to restrict by category.
Category Name <\/strong>– The list can be sorted by ID or Name.
Events<\/strong> – shows how many events are using each category.
Private<\/strong> – If Yes, the category is only seen by logged-in users. If No, it will be seen by everyone.
Icon<\/strong> – shows the selected icon (if Hide Category Icons is not checked.)
Color<\/strong> – shows the hex color code (if colors are enabled.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Category Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hide category colors<\/strong>
Hides the color settings and does not show the category colors on the front-end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Title text color<\/strong>
Uses the assigned category color as the text color of the event title in grid and list views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Title background color<\/strong>
Uses the assigned color as the title background in the calendar views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hide Category icons<\/strong>
Will hide the icon settings and disable output of category icons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
